For example, Austin represented the family of a freshman student fatally shot at a local university, which resulted in a confidential settlement against the university in a premises liability case.
Austin and law partner Ronald Cundy also successfully resolved a dram shop liability case against a major corporation with a settlement for the family of a man killed by an intoxicated employee driving from a company event. Austin and Ronald Cundy most recently successfully represented a victim in a medical malpractice case.
In the area of products liability, Austin represented the interests of the Weather Channel and its insurer in a case against a fire sprinkler company that damaged its broadcast equipment at the Weather Channel facilities. That case was successfully concluded with a confidential settlement.
In the area of breach of contract, Austin was lead counsel representing Fulton County retirees in a Federal class action lawsuit against Fulton County for its failure to maintain constitutionally protected health insurance benefits. That case, although successfully concluded more than ten years ago with a seven figure settlement and injunctive relief, still provides protections for Fulton County retirees today.
